MicroChip Biosystems Lab.

The Laboratory consists of a 50 m2 and 30 m2 facilities for microfluidic experiments and biological experiments, respectively in the 2nd Research Building at SUSTech. The lab houses imaging systems including a fully automated Zeiss Microscope with cell incubation setup, PDMS soft-lithography station, an oxygen plasma chamber, syringe pumps, computers, cell culture incubators, pressure driven pumps, electrical stimulation system, UV photopolymerization station, a chemical hood, a 3D printer, TEER measurement system, and etc. The facilities in this laboratory are being used for fabricating and testing BioMEMS devices for various biomedical applications.

Material Characterization/Preparation Center

This is a university-wide user facility to support research and teaching missions at SUSTech.

The state-of-the-art equipment in the center include Molecular Beam Epitaxy, Magnetron Sputtering, Electron Beam Evaporation, Multi-Source Integrated Evaporation, Focused-Ion Beam, Electron Beam Lithography, Contact Photolithography, Spin Coater, Plasma Cleaner, Reactive-Ion Etching, Inductively Coupled Plasma Etching, Plasma Asher, Atomic Layer Deposition, Low-Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition, Wafer Dicing Machine, Wire Bonder, Ellipsometer.

Research Center for Material Properties Manipulation and Application

This is a university-wide user facility with high-end imaging and analysis systems that include Scanning Electron Microscope, Transmission Electron Microscope, Atomic Force Microscope, Confocal Microscope, X-ray Diffraction, Micro-Raman Spectrometer, UV-Vis-MR Spectroscopy, and etc.

Life Science Research Center

This is another university-wide user facility for biological studies at SUSTech equipped with a Real-time PCR, Automatic DNA/Protein Purification System, Ultracentrifuge, Analytical Mass Spectrometer, Single Crystal X-ray Diffraction System, Biocore System (Surface Plasmon Resonance), AKTA Pure Chromatography System, Flow Cytometer, Sorter, Ultrasonic Homogenizers, Ultra-thin Section Microtome, and etc.
